We had a beautiful morning for a walk in the woods on Wednesday. Thanks to the third and fourth grade students, FES staff and parent volunteers, the trail looks much better, and is easier to access. Along with trimming and clearing, students discussed other possible improvements, made observations about the forest ecosystem, and learned a little about some of the plants and trees on the trail. We would like to thank Rick Rayfield for doing some early morning work with his chain saw, and Alva and Lou Bevacqui, Kitty Friedman, Ray Stanier, Cari Wilson, and Anne Krupka for leading student groups on the trail. We will keep you informed of our new projects, including a StoryWalk we hope to be installing soon.
