Doug Stoehr and Leo Cohen, from the Mad River Valley Rotary, delivered dictionaries to all of the third graders, as well as fourth graders who did not receive one last year. They facilitated a great discussion on the importance of using a dictionary, and challenged them to say the longest word in the English language. The students wrote thank you letters expressing their appreciation.

Third and fourth grade students are learning about measurement and geometry. We began with a fun activity on Halloween, supplying each student with a gourd. Measurements were taken, and data was graphed and analyzed. In the afternoon, students used their creative talents to turn them into people, animals, and interesting creatures.
