Homework Expectations
Try your best each night.
Homework is due the day after it is assigned, unless noted otherwise.
Usually Monday night is related to spelling, Tuesday and Thursday are math work, and Wednesday is a literacy assignment. (This might relate to a book you are reading, or to a theme we are studying.)
Try to find 5 minutes each day to practice math facts. If you know all of your facts, look for math in the world around you.
It is important to read every week to develop your skills, learn new information, and enjoy a good story. Third graders should read about 80 minutes per week, and 4th graders should read 120 minutes. You need to keep track of the books you read independently by writing down this information on your Book Log.
Homework that is consistently late or does not show effort will result in consequences, which may include the loss of some recess time.
Homework should take no more than 30-40 minutes of solid effort. Please communicate with your teacher if it is taking longer, or you have concerns about the assignments.
